Over 65,000 copies sold!
What an amazing feat for our tiny/huge game. In under a month Hollow Knight has managed to sell over 65,000 copies across Steam, GoG and Humble Bundle. That’s just an enormous number, and we’re thrilled to know so many people are diving into Hollow Knight’s world. Coupled with it’s sales, Hollow Knight’s seen a fantastic reception by media, by players on Steam, and by backers!
Thank you for all the emails, and the wonderful compliments on the game, the soundtrack, and for your patience as we work through everything.
Now that we are here, get ready! More Hollow Knight content is being designed, animated, and prepped for you. If you thought you’d already faced Hallownest’s toughest foes, you’re in for a shock!

It’s here gang! Hollow Knight is live on Steam for Windows. It’s been a long, intense journey reaching this point. 2 years of non-stop development, and right down to the wire, with William putting in last minute fixes the day before the game went out!
Our hugest thanks to all of you for allowing us to make the game we dreamt of making. What a thrilling (and exhausting) ride!
We also don’t say this enough, but our sincerest thanks also go out the team at Kickstarter! Without your support, and your platform, this game would never have come to be.
Our last big ask: Tell the world about Hollow Knight! Write, Tweet, Stream or sms a friend. The more people know about it, and the bigger it becomes, the more crazy content we can add to this weird and wonderful buggy world.
And don’t mistake! Team Cherry’s work is far from over. Even today, we’re back at it. Dave’s working at getting the Mac build ready, and William is prepping a patch with tweaks and optimisations. Once lots of people, with all manner of different computer setups, start playing the game, you learn a lot! Quickly. We’ll be addressing anything that pops up as we go.

Get ready everyone! Team Cherry’s huge New Year 2017 Update is landing now. So much news for you all. Settle in and let’s get to it!
First up, we’re gonna deal with the big one. There’s just one major question we keep being asked ‘Is Hollow Knight coming to the Nintendo Switch?’
We’ve had a long conversation with Nintendo and given their recent reveals, we can now announce: Hollow Knight is making the switch to Nintendo’s new portable/home/hybrid platform!

Day of the Devs
Hollow Knight was recently selected by video game legends Double Fine & Iam8bit for their Day of the Devs event. The event is an all indie, all free, one day extravaganza of gaming held in San Francisco. Our fantastic PR, Marketing, Game-Launching genius Matt Griffin was there to show off Hollow Knight.

For today’s update we’d like to introduce the newest addition to Team Cherry, Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin. Matt will be handling PR and marketing for the game in the lead-up to release and during the post-launch window too. He’s previously worked in this role for Stardew Valley, Interstellaria and Wanderlust Adventures, so we’re confident he’ll be a massive help in getting Hollow Knight out into the world.
