Hollow Knight Mac Debut Delay

Ari | 22 February, 2017 | Uncategorized

Heya Gang,

This is a short one. As part of the roll into release, we’ve gone a bit wider with our testing for both Windows and Mac. Unfortunately, and frustratingly, several of our new testers have encountered a previously undiscovered crash bug in the Mac version.

Though it hasn’t effected all of our testers,  we think it’s a large enough issue that it needs to be addressed before the Mac version can be released.

The bug was discovered earlier this week, and though we’ve been working towards getting it fixed, it now looks like that solution won’t be completed until after the 24th. We’ll keep everyone updated as we go. Fingers crossed it doesn’t cause much of a delay.

To all our Mac backers, know it’s our main priority to get this sorted, and to get Hollow Knight out to you!

Speak Soon,

Team Cherry

Any update on when you think this will be available on the mac? I just found the trailer for your game on steam and I am absolutely amazed and want to play it so badly but see it is not yet available for mac.

Hey! Unfortunately, I found out about the mac delay after I made the purchase on steam… I was so excited, I didn’t notice the Apple symbol was missing when I made the purchase. My question is, will I have to purchase it again when it does become available for the Mac on steam, or will that be an issue? Looking forward to your response.

  8. William says:

Once you’ve purchased it on Steam, you’ve purchased it on all platforms (PC/Mac/Linux). That means you’ll be able to download the Mac version once it’s up, no hassles!

  9. Ben Englander says:

Been over a month and still no update. I have given up hope.
